My inspiration for this piece was a photo I took in February of 2014, while relaxing on a ridge of outcroppings at Ocean Reef Park on Singer Island, FL.
My camera easily captured the wide range of intense blue and aqua streaked water that rippled around me, but not the surreal atmosphere created by the late afternoon sun, spotlighting the scene.
But, I relied on my "minds eye" and multiple layers of burnishing to evoke a more impressionistic mood as opposed to a photo realistic rendering.
