The camp spanned two separate weeks, with a diverse group of 20 children, aged 7-14. They wore me out, but the feeling was mutual, as I challenged them to create several very ambitious projects combining their original stories and poems with their own illuminations/illustrations.
But creative exhaustion is a good thing, for both the students and the teacher :-) And I came away with a passion to create art that matches the interest and energy I had while I was pursuing my BFA at the Art Institute in Chicago.
The photo below is a photo collage of my students. And in the coming months, and years, I will post a combination of some of my past artwork, as well as new things I create.
