This work was inspired by a photo I saw on Pinterest of roses made out of birch bark. I was tempted at first to learn how to make my own, but quickly realized I'm already in way over my head with my visual art, photography, wood carvings and jewelry making, and it's simply not practical to add any more projects to my work table.
But I just couldn't let go of the image of those birch roses, and then I got to thinking . . . wouldn't it be great if birch roses grew on birch trees. Now in "my world" they do!
